An elegant cat with a long graceful body and legs. Distinctive features are large ears set vertically on the head, a short wedge with a straight nose profile with prominent whisker pads and vivid green eyes. The Russian has a unique double coat which is thick but very fine, standing up soft and silky like seal-skin. In the Russian blue, the coat is a clear medium blue with a distinct silvery sheen. Also bred in black, white and tabby. A quiet, soft voiced cat that is obliging and affectionate to its owners but undemanding. Mixes well with pets and children.
