Scottish Fold Shorthair

The folded ear gene stems from a Scottish farm cat which produced two folded-ear kittens in 1963. From one of these, all Folds are descended. A relatively short, well rounded body with a short coat, the Fold has a short nose and prominent cheeks. Ears fold forward and downward with tightly folded ears preferred. Breeding is generally to the British Shorthair, so temperament is similar - being home loving and fond of their owners, the Fold is intelligent, gentle and even-tempered.
