Despite much speculation, this breed really did exist in Siam, (now Thailand) many hundreds of years ago and have been bred for over a hundred years. The Siamese is a beautifully balanced medium sized, short-haired cat with a long svelte body on fine legs and long tapering tail. Large ears set low on the head to form a triangle with the nose which is straight in profile. Eyes should be a deep blue and point colour even. Extremely affectionate, active and demanding. Very intelligent and extremely vocal, they are generally sociable but tend to bond more closely to one person.
