I first started breeding cats in 1981, breeding Siamese.

Was NZCF Siamese/Oriental Registrar for a short period in the 80’s.

After a break working overseas, I returned to NZ where I started breeding Russians, Burmese and in later years, Abyssinians.

Commenced my judges training with NZCF in the late ‘90s.

In 2002, I was the first graduate of the Catz Inc. Judges programme as a Shorthair judge and eventually became a SH Tutor Judge.   In 2011 - qualified as a Longhair judge. During my time at Catz Inc, I was introduced to and fell in love with the LaPerm and the delightful Munchkin.

Elected twice as Chairman of Catz Inc., I am and will continue to be an advocate for harmony amongst the different feline organisations around the world. NZ has achieved this. Other countries around the world still struggle.

In 2012 I was invited to join the Ancats Australia judging panel. Although still residing in New Zealand, I accepted the invitation as this allowed me earlier exposure to many more cat breeds than were then available to Catz Inc. judges in NZ.  (These were the early days in NZ when sharing of judges was still not allowed.)

I was an All Breeds Tutor Judge with Ancats and also a WCF International All Breeds Judge. I was on the Ancats Breed Standards Committee and for a time the WCF Oceania Liaison Officer.

Today, I still breed LaPerms and Munchkins, also their hybrid the Skookum. I recently imported a Selkirk Rex female from Australia so now breed them also. I love the dwarf breeds.  Contrary to opinion of many, the Munchkin is a very healthy breed.

Now residing in Ngaruawahia, I am a member of Hamilton Cat Club and also on their committee.
